Seniors and Reserves unbeaten in Carmen.

Fr Rocks seniors returned to League action at the weekend, when they traveled to Carrickmore for a vital league clash. The Rocks got off to a good start responding to a Mark Donnelly free, with points from play from Raymond Mulgrew, Owen Mulligan and Conor Mullan all in the opening five minutes. Playing with the breeze the home team responded with three points from the dead ball from Penrose and Donnelly. Christopher Eastwood kept Cookstown in the hunt with a well taken score from play in the eighteenth minute, before efforts from Donnelly and Penrose widened the gap. Christopher Eastwood got a point back just before the break to leave the score 0-8 to 0-5 in favour of Carrickmore. The second half belonged to Cookstown who dominated possession after a Martin Penrose free put four between the sides. Carrickmore did not score for the remaining twenty four minutes of the game, and points from Raymond Mulgrew, Christopher Eastwood and Mulgrew again put just one between them with a minute to go. The direct running of Shea McGarrity earned a free and Owen Mulligan levelled the contest with just a few seconds remaining. The final score finished 0-9 to 0-9 with Cookstown left to rue a series of missed chances in the second half that would have won the game. The team lined out as follows: M Rea, M O'Connor, C O'Hare, D Hughes, M Murray, B Hughes, R Pickering, C Mullan (0-1), B O'Neill, M Hughes, O Mulligan (0-2, 1free), S McGarrity, J McGahan, R Mulgrew (0-3, 1 free), C Eastwood (0-3,1free) .

Empathic win for Reserves
Well done to a very youthful reserve team that remain unbeaten at the top of the league after five games. A brilliant 2-14 to 0-6 victory over Carrickmore saw the great run continue. Goals from Barry Potter and Danny McElhatton set the platform for victory and there were great performances from Barry Potter, Eoin Coyle, Eoin O'Connor, and substitute Christopher McNicholl.
