Fr Rocks exited the championship at Healy Park on Friday night after a 0-11 to 0-6 defeat to Carrickmore. Carmen bossed the opening stages, racing into a 0-6 to 0-0 lead by the quarter hour mark with Fr Rocks finding it difficult to get any inroads in the game. There were 23 minutes on the clock before Owen Mulligan broke the Fr Rocks’ duck, and this was followed by a good individual score from Shea McGarrity. Carrickmore lead by 0-7 to 0-2 at the break. Cookstown began to claw their way back into the game, and having hit four scores in a row the Rocks trailed by just 0-8 to 0-6 after 18 minutes of the second half. Raymond Mulgrew (2), Owen Mulligan and John Gilmore the Fr Rocks marksmen. With Carrickmore reduced to 14 men with ten minutes to play it appeared that Cooksgown were in the driving seat, but Carrickmore held firm and finished out the game on a final scoreline of 0-11 to 0-6.
