Emphatic victory over Greencastle

Cookstown 2-19 Greencastle 0-7. 
Greencastle were the visitors to Paddy Cullen Park on Sunday afternoon and it was Fr Rocks who finished with an emphatic win after an impressive performance. It was the visitors who dominated the opening exchanges and a John McCullagh point opened the scoring, before Marty Rea produced a superb save to stop a certain Greencastle goal. Christopher Eastwood brought the sides level on six minutes, and the contest remained even, with the teams trading points throughout the half, leaving both teams level after twenty three minutes, Raymond Mulgrew, John Gilmore, Conor Mullan and Owen Mulligan the Fr Rocks marksmen. Fr Rocks dominated the last five minutes of the first half, and points from Marty Murray, John Gilmore, Conor Mullan and Brian Mulligan saw them open a three point break at the interval on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-6. The visitors were reduced to fourteen men in the opening minute of the second half, and thereafter Cookstown went on a scoring rampage. They kicked a stunning 2-7 without reply in a twenty minute spell of brilliant football, with Conor Mullan hitting a brace of goals, which were matched by scores from Jason Quinn, Owen Mulligan (2points), James McGahan, Christopher Eastwood and Raymond Mulgrew. Cookstown finished the half with three excellent scores from Mulligan, Mulgrew and Mullan to finish off a brilliant all round team performance, which saw them produce their best display of the season and push them closer to league play off place. The final score finished 2-19 to 0-7. Reserves top the table
A brilliant all round team performance saw Fr Rocks reserves extend their unbeaten run and top the reserve league. There were great performances all over the pitch which led to an  emphatic 1-15 to 0-2 victory over Greencastle.
