Seniors lose to Killyclogher
Fr Rocks traveled to Killyclogher on Sunday for their third game of the season. The opening score of the contest ultimately proved to be the decisive one as Killyclogher grabbed a goal in the opening minutes and ended with a two point victory. Cookstown fought back to lead 0-6 to 1-2 at halftime with Christopher Eastwood accounting for half their tally and John Gilmore and Owen Mulligan also on target. Cookstown had played well in the opening period but did not really take advantage of the strong wind which they had.
Mulligan and Eastwood traded points with the Leo and Conor Meenan in the second half.
Leo Meenan and Christopher Eastwood again both proved reliable from frees but with the contest looking like it might end in a stalemate Conor Meenan and O’Neill both popped up with scores that won Killyclogher the points. Fr Rocks scorers – Christopher Eastwood 0-5, Owen Mulligan 0-2, John Gilmore 0-1, Conor Mullan 0-1. The Rocks will hope to get their season on track on Friday evening in Derrylaughan when they take on the lough shore side in what looks like a must win game. The game throws in at 7:30pm in Derrylaughan all support on the night is welcome.
